This is a time for nurture and stability in preparation for Autumn and Winter. You can feel the heaviness in nature as it is slowing down and the growing season comes to an end.
We need to focus on ourselves and drawing our strength and energies back to the centre. Calming down after high summer.
Organs: Stomach and Spleen
· Make sure your relationships, food and thought are nourishing and supportive.
· Stop worrying it is a waste of energy, instead concentrate on the mind and free yourself from guilt.
· Do things you enjoy, remind yourself of your care for others and respect yourself.
Food: High nutrition to increase your immunity. Yellow is the colour, seasonal food rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Foods that are naturally sweet such as: Apples, apricots, courgettes, nectarines, sweet potato.
Try to reduce sugar and refined foods, and eat earlier to aid digestion. Respect your body and eat slowly and comfortably.
Value breakfast as the stomach and spleen are strongest between 7-11am. Stew some fresh fruits and add them to healthy cereals and yoghurt.
Exercise: Energy is slowing down, so a less frantic routine. Try and be centred and focused, feel satisfied. Work on strengthening your core and legs. Earth Energy: Enjoy the outdoors, walking, golf, cycling.
Yoga: Connecting to the earth and root, grounding in core strength. Returning back to centre after each pose for earthing and balancing.
Pulling the navel into the spine to emphasise core strength.
